These mirrors are amazing. I can even see when people are sketchily running across the parking lot behind me in the middle of the night.

The 2015 Hyundai Sonata I rented when we were back stateside had a corner mirror split for a wide angle, and it was nice to have. Like this:

Kinja'd!!!

Many EU cars have the outside edge of the mirror rounded a tad to give a wider view angle.

That’s pretty cool! Those seem super useful.

I personally don’t mind what people do to improve their safety and the safety of drivers around them. My friends brother has one of those huge extra long rear view mirrors in his car and he can see EVERYTHING.

People who make fun of drivers with the tow mirrors out have clearly never experienced the awesomeness that these are. It makes driving a dually easy.

My 2013 focus has the top mirror you showed, works great on the highway!

Wrong! The current GM tow mirrors are superior.

1) The convex mirror is usable with them pushed in.

2) Integrated blinkers

3) LED lights. They only work in Park or Reverse, but will light up the entire side of the truck, and behind as well. Once you’ve backed up a trailer at night with them, you won’t be able to downgrade to something without.

We put those on my dad’s 99 ram. Awesome when towing!

I’ve wondered why someone hadn't done something like that. I guess they have! More specifically, take the bottom inch (2 cm) or so, and give it a more convex curve.

People only make fun when trucks are running around with the tow mirrors extended out, and no trailer hooked up. In a truck with built-in, usually power extending, there really isn't a reason to leave them out unless when in use.

Do you often have issues with people running across the parking lot, behind you, in a manner that is sketchy?

Strangely enough, yes.

Wrong. Those are basically the same as the old ones, just with lights. We also have a Duramax at work, and they aren’t nearly as good.

They are wrong. If you aren’t used to driving a dually, they really help with not running over anything.

I could see that for a new owner of said dually, but I don't think every truck out there with a ghost trailer is new to driving and unaware of the size of their truck.

Yeah, but they are excellent for blind spots and aren’t hurting anybody else.

The 2015 Honda Fit has that mirror you showed below.

Until they parallel park their truck with these extended. Goodbye, mirrors from a passing car.
